Going the Distance

Therapy involves an ebb and flow between mirroring experiences: wondering and focusing, working hard and finding rest, revealing oneself to another and seeing yourself anew.

Sometimes, people enter therapy with the idea that they are getting a checkup where the doctor will “fix” whatever is “wrong” for you, when, in reality, therapy is driven by you. It is your time, and your session. Only you can do the work, take the rest, give the forgiveness, seek the accountability, or change the things you want to change in your life. The good news is: in therapy, you don’t have to do it alone.
